SPECIFICATION


In 2006, it was discovered that fibroblasts from humans and mice can be reprogrammed to generate inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), which have similar characteristics to embryonic stem cells. This has created a valuable new source of pluripotent stem cells for drug development, cell therapy, and basic research.
